[ Ned thinks to himself that it is little wonder that she and Sansa found each other here. Inesa both looks like a little fashion plate and entirely comfortable in her own skin.
With her on his arm, he turns them toward the park and begins strolling at a leisurely pace. ] I have not met this detective friend of yours, but Sansa has told me of plenty of fashions that are as you say, fun and different. She keeps offering to let me try some, but I am not as brave as she.
[ His eyes move to the pin in Inesa's hair. ]
Those touches of home - the wolves in your designs - I feel as though I have allies and kin here. It means a great deal to me.
Well, I admit, I have influenced Sansa as well. She hadn't worn pants but I made her some pajamas that matched my own. They were so cute, I couldn't help myself. [They matched and Inesa had also made similar matching pajamas for Lancelot, Ghost, Jon and soon Theon too. It had become a strange project of hers, which will likely involve all the Starks in time.]
Of course you have allies. [She replied quickly.] Not just your children but me and my friends as well.
I'm sure you have...and I'm sure Sansa is glad to have someone like a sister to share these things with. Arya was never fond of anything in that vein. Sansa is in her element, working with you.
[ Her promise earns her a smile and squeeze of her hand with his other hand. ]
Thank you, Inesa. I know you speak truly. And that I can speak truly with you.
[ They begin to weave their way in a slow, meandering fashion through the trees of the park. Ned contemplates before speaking again. ]
You have seen so many things, known so many places, before coming here. Was there...ever anything you had to let go of, from any of those other places, so that you could live more fully in this one?
Yes. My sister is much like Arya, so perhaps that is why Sansa and I get along so well. We are the best of friends. [She's never had a best friend before and while Sansa certainly falls into that category, they feel more like sisters than just friends.] She had even offered to let me be a part of her family. So... I do think of her as a sister.
I hope that is alright.
[She doesn't want to presume since she is now talking to father Stark.
Inesa turns to look up at Ned, her blue-gray eyes curious and bright in the face of his question.] Yes. Though it is different... in a way, but yes. It was when I had met Jon. I would give up everything to be able to stay with him and to be human... to live and to die with him. I had never had that wish before I had met him and I knew that I would give up my search and my life's purpose if it meant that I could grow old with him.
[She pauses and then continues in a softer voice.]
